
Week 2 Autumn Menu – Wholesome Worldly Flavours to Warm Your Table
Well this is getting to you a bit late, but as many of you would know, there is an incoming cyclone here affecting Southeast QLD and Northern NSW. After an absolute mammoth effort Sam, a team of helpers and I got meals to everyone this week by Wednesday afternoon. It was important to us to ensure that you had food to eat, and it was to the relief of many of you who had no other food options available that we were able to get you those meals! I am so very grateful to everyone that helped and offered to help.
While we are yet to see the full force of Tropical Cyclone Alfred as yet, we are optimistically scheduling this menu, with delivery dates for the latter half of next week. Of course these are subject to change pending the conditions, but we will keep you posted if that is the case.
This is the second week in our new Autumn menu, and it is titled Wholesome Worldly flavours. As always there has been much debate, even to the eleventh hour on what the final menu would include but I am sure you will love it as much as we will enjoy making it for you all!
It includes:
Chinese Sweetcorn Soup (Gluten-Free) Comforting sweetcorn soup with a hint of ginger.
Swedish Meatballs with Mash, Peas, and Gravy Tender meatballs with creamy mash, peas, and rich gravy.
Italian Lamb Shanks on a Bed of Polenta with Steamed Beans (Gluten-Free) Slow-cooked lamb shanks served with creamy polenta and green beans.
Teriyaki Salmon Noodle Bowl (Gluten-Free Option Available) Flavorful salmon with teriyaki glaze, served over noodles and veggies.
Tuscan Vegetable Frittata (Vegetarian, Gluten-Free) A savory frittata packed with cherry tomatoes, chargrilled capsicum, spinach and cheese.
Chilli Con Carne (Vegetarian Option Available, Gluten-Free) Hearty chili with a blend of spices, beans, and meat (or veggie option).
Baked Southern Chicken with Broccoli Casserole and Corn (Gluten-Free Option Available) Crispy southern chicken with a cheesy broccoli casserole and sweet corn.
